About Northwest Sports & Entertainment, Inc. (NWS)
Originally founded in Seattle in 1994, NWS has organized and participated in more than 500 unique events and tournaments. NWS is one of the few companies in the country that works with all levels of sports, including professional athletes, youth teams with AAU and high schools, major universities, and professional teams, including the Phoenix Suns and Seattle Sonics. In December 2007 NWS hosted two nationally televised neutral site men’s college basketball games - the fifth annual Comcast Battle in Seattle with Gonzaga playing SEC favorite Tennessee on ESPN, and the third annual Cougar Hardwood Classic with Washington State University playing The Citadel on Fox Sports National. NWS also runs the largest known youth basketball camp in the world, titled Santa Slam, in coordination with NBA teams. This camp will host approximately 25,000 participants in 25 cities during the 2007 winter holiday break. NWS also organizes and runs the Toyota Spokane All Americans Charity Classic featuring Dan Dickau and Adam Morrison. The summer classic features NBA players with former Gonzaga alum playing together in an event to raise money for Spokane area charities.

In 2008 NWS will host the first ever basketball game held at the University of Phoenix Stadium. This historic event will be a doubleheader featuring the Arizona State University Sun Devils against the Brigham Young University Cougars and the University of Louisville Cardinals taking on the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Both games are expected to be nationally televised and will likely break the record for attendance for a college basketball game in the state of Arizona. If the attendance record is broken, NWS will have run events that hold attendance records in both Arizona and the state of Washington. This doubleheader event will be a major step in bringing a Final Four to Arizona.

NWS founder and owner John Hines, a former Morgan Stanley Vice-President, brings a depth of financial knowledge, sports planning, and promotional abilities to each project. Hines has built a team of professionals to grow NWS into one of the most successful basketball event companies, which was evident when the 2006 version of the Comcast Battle in Seattle broke the attendance record for college basketball in the state of Washington. With his vast knowledge of the game of basketball and organizing and operating events, Hines is actively working to expand his list of events to countries throughout the world.
