Teams Announced for First Ever Basketball Event at the University of Phoenix Stadium
March 28, 2008 - Phoenix, AZ - At a press conference this morning, the Arizona Sports & Tourism Authority (AZSTA) and Global Spectrum in collaboration with Northwest Sports & Entertainment Inc. announced the first ever basketball games to be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium. The event will be a double header and will feature four teams who won at least 20 contests and played in a postseason tournament during the 2007-2008 season. The first matchup features the University of Louisville Cardinals facing the Golden Gophers from the University of Minnesota. Game two pits the Brigham Young University Cougars against the Arizona State University Sun Devils.  More »

First Ever Basketball Event to be announced this Friday at the University of Phoenix Stadium
March 25, 2008 - Phoenix, AZ - Through a partnership with the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority, along with Global Spectrum, Northwest Sports & Entertainment will announce the first ever basketball event at the University of Phoenix Stadium.  Promoter, Northwest Sports Director John A. Hines, will introduce Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority President/CEO Ted Ferris, Arizona State University Athletic Director Lisa Love (tentative) and Head Men’s coach Herb Sendek, Brigham Young University Associate Athletic Director, Brian Santiago, and Head Men’s Coach Dave Rose during a press conference this Friday, March 28th, at 10:30 A.M. AT&T Named the Official Title Sponsor of the 2007 Cougar Hardwood Classic
November 28, 2007 - Seattle, Wash. - AT&T’s wireless operations today announced an agreement to become the official title sponsor of the 2007 Cougar Hardwood Classic. The Cougar Hardwood Classic is an annual Washington State University men’s college basketball game that is the highlight of the Cougar’s schedule. This year the Hardwood Classic will feature The Citadel Bulldogs at Seattle’s KeyArena on Thursday December 20, 2007. The game will also be broadcast live on Fox Sports Net Northwest.  More »

Three Top 15 Men's Basketball Teams in the Nation Headed for KeyArena this December
October 29, 2007 - Northwest Sports & Entertainment announces that three out of the four teams participating in this year’s college basketball games played at the KeyArena are ranked in the Top 15 of the first ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll. Northwest Sports & Entertainment promotion breaks Washington State Attendance Record for College Basketball
January 4, 2007 - The 2006 version of the Comcast Battle in Seattle set a new attendance record this past December.  Northwest Sports & Entertainment, Inc. Director John A. Hines announced record attendance of 15,110, with KeyArena capacity of 17,700, for the University of Gonzaga contest vs. the University of Nevada on December 30th 2006.  The previous record for a regular-season crowd in Washington state history was 14,252 at the Seattle Center Coliseum for a Feb. 12, 1967 game between Seattle University and Texas Western the year after the Miners won the NCAA title.  More »

Nevada to take on Gonzaga in Comcast Battle in Seattle
June 22, 2006 - Northwest Sports & Entertainment Inc. is please to announce the return of the Comcast Battle in Seattle this December.  The game will feature 05-06 WAC Regular and tournament champion Nevada Wolf Pack vs. the 05-06 West Coast Conference Regular and tournament championship Gonzaga Bulldogs in the annual contest held at KeyArena in Seattle.  This years BIS game will be the first in the four year history of the game to take place after the Christmas on December 30th.  This will be a rematch of the 2004 NCAA tournament game also played at KeyArena when Nevada upset the #2 Seeded Bulldogs 91-72 for their first trip ever to the sweet sixteen.  More »

Portion of Dan Dickau Charity Classic proceeds to help benefit Ronny Turiaf
July 28, 2005 - Dan Dickau along with Northwest Sports has announced that part of the proceeds from his Charity Classic Event will go to assist Ronny Turiaf through a special fund, based on NCAA approval. There will be several ways in which fans can contribute to Ronny. A booth will be set up at the event for fans that would like to make in-kind contributions for a special fund set up for Ronny. In addition, folks contributing to the Adopt a Player program for Dan’s event will have those proceeds set aside for this purpose.  More »

June 17, 2005 - Spokane, WA - Eight members of the 2005 Gonzaga Men’s Basketball team along with former Bulldog great Dan Dickau will be at the Comcast Battle in Seattle Booth in Riverfront Park signing autographs for players and fans as part of the Spokane Hoopfest weekend. Players will be available Friday June 24th from 4-6pm and Saturday from 10-Noon, with a special noon to 1:00pm appearance by Dan Dickau.
